IP protection grade
IP (dust and water proof) grade
IP grade is based on the protection code grade of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standard on preventing the entry of foreign solids and liquids This can ensure that the instrument can be used under harsh conditions
The degree of protection is usually expressed by IP followed by two numbers, which are used to specify the degree of protection

the first number: prevent physical contact and foreign substances
Protection code Type Description
0 -- Without protection, there is no special protection for people or objects outside
1 Large Prevent solid objects larger than 50mm from invading
2 Medium Prevent intrusion of solid objects larger than 12mm
3 Small Prevent intrusion of solid objects larger than 2.5mm
4 Miniature Prevent intrusion of solid objects larger than 1.0mm
5 Dustproof Prevent the invasion of harmful dust (excluding the dust that produces negative images on the functionality of the instrument)
6 Sealing and dustproof Dustproof completely prevents foreign objects from invading, and can completely prevent dust from entering

the second number: waterproof
Protection code Type Description
0 -- No protection
1 Waterproof I Prevent the intrusion of water drops falling vertically
2 Waterproof II Prevent dripping water from entering when it is vertical or even inclined by 15 degrees
3 Rainproof It can prevent dripping water from entering when it is vertical or even inclined by 60 °
4 Splash proof Prevent water splashing from any direction
5 Anti spray Prevent water directly sprayed from any direction from invading
6 Waterproof Prevent internal penetration when water is sprayed directly in any direction
7 Impermeable water Even if the product is immersed in water under certain conditions, internal penetration will not occur
8 Underwater Underwater operation can be carried out within specific pressure limits
